Author: Rick Riordan
The book I am reading is The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan. The story is involved with Egyptian mythology and it is about Carter and Sadie and how they are in the bloodline of the pharaohs and are also the most powerful magicians in the Kane bloodline in 3,000 years. Their dad (Julius) is an archeologist and was secretly a magician. Carter traveled the world with Julius, mostly Egypt, ever since their mom died. Sadie stayed in London with her grandparents, and Julius got to see her twice every year.
So on Christmas eve Julius went to go pick Sadie up and went to the museum to see the Rosetta Stone. Turns out, he wanted to use it for magic, and only wanted to release one god, Osiris, but released all 5 gods of the Demon Days, Osiris, Set, Horus, Isis, and Nephthys. So when they were released, they went into the bodies that were there (hosting) so Osiris went into Julius, Horus went into Carter, Isis went into Sadie, Set went into ??? (Major spoiler) and Nephthys went into ??? (Major Spoiler)
During all this, Set appeared in a fiery form and used his magic to entomb Julius. After all this happened their uncle Amos (Julius’s Brother) took them to his mansion to train as magicians. And that’s when the adventures begin.
So overall, if you like Egyptian Mythology, Fantasy, Adventures, and awesome fighting scenes, this book is for you. There were lines that cracked me up, scenes that were full of action and suspense, and times that made me very sad. That’s all the info that I can give you for this book review, and maybe you’ll think about getting this book, or even some other books from Rick Riordan. Thanks for reading!
